Meet Your Practitioner!
I discovered massage as a spiritual calling to help those in pain, to regain balance and quality of life.
I worked in a warehouse for 8 years until I decided to pursue something more meaningful. I still wanted to work with my hands, but without breaking my back.
That's when the idea of massage was born.
Shortly after graduating Washington Spa Academy in 2023, I got my first LMT job at a chiropractic clinic. During that time I spent most weekends attending various bodywork classes learning from the best bodyworkers in the Seattle area. Many of them I continue to learn from. To this day I’m still in awe of what the body is capable of!
I've dedicated the rest of this lifetime to expanding my knowledge and seeing what other techniques can be applied within my scope of practice.
My massages are often described as targeted and therapeutic. While I was trained in Swedish massage, I like to add more to the mix.
Anything from Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Bindegewebsmassage (CTM), Abdominal work, Structural Integration, Joint mobilization (these are gentle and not to be confused with chiropractic adjustments). Adding some of these techniques with a Swedish massage can be very beneficial and they feel amazing!
When it comes to chronic pain or tension, we tend to find ourselves in a ‘holding pattern’. An example would be a raised shoulder, forward neck, or a pelvic tilt. This can be a result of a past injury, new job, habit, hobby, etc. The affected muscle(s) aren’t functioning properly, they eventually become weak leading to a compensatory pattern which cause imbalances in our posture and movement.
Some of these patterns can even stem from trauma dating back to childhood.
Our brain tells us it's safe to keep that shoulder elevated, but the pain persists. One of my goals is to help take the brain's fear of pain away through active movements and reeducating the muscle(s) to guide them closer to where they should be.
Our bodies hold the power to change. We can encourage that change.
Through bodywork, movement re-education, awareness, and reestablishing the mind muscle connection we create an opportunity for the body to move freely and properly- thus restoring balance.
I give my clients customized treatment that creates longer lasting relief. With that are some home stretches to ensure that you are comfortable and aware of your body as we take on this journey together.
